My Mr.

Sometimes you just can't wait to celebrate something on the designated day of the year, because someone or something is so amazing that you have to take a moment to acknowledge it right that second.  Lately I have been less than lovely, and my Mr. has been amazing, he is always amazing.  And I just can't wait until Father's day to have a reason to proclaim his amazing-ness, so I'll do it today.

This is the man who chooses to stay up until 2am most days of the week in order to be productive at work, despite the complaints of his wife, just so that he can spend every moment when he isn't teaching classes loving on his family (who often complain about him being clinigy as he asks for one too many kisses or hugs).

The same man who only goes running for 20-30 minutes, on the sidewalk, in the dark, once the boys are in bed, after he first made sure his wife was able to run, and that she has everything she needs before kissing her on his way out the door wearing his reflective gear to stay safe because he "has an amazing family to come home to - so safety first."  Which is all so amazing because pre-family he use to run 100 mile weeks, never wearing reflective gear, and always in the trails.

Here is the man who doesn't complain, ever, about the early morning wake up (typically around 6-7am) from little loves who just can't wait to play with daddy, despite the fact that he stayed up until 2am almost every morning to work.  He never complains of being tired, and relies on Cherry Coke zero to fuel the energy that getting only 4-6 hours of sleep can't provide.

Here is the man who makes every moment of their childhood matter, packing every minute of the day with fun.  He never complains about playing with them - endless hours of trains, cars, play-Doh, Duplohs, buliding blocks, lincoln logs, coloring, puzzles, outdoor adventures, etc - and if you know my Mr. you know he despises some of these things, especially puzzles!

Here is the man who is not a fan of the newborn/infant stage, yet does everything he can to make sure I am not overwhelmed.  Here is the man who loves his little girl, and admits fully that she already has him wrapped around her little finger.

Here is the man who would love a Porsche, but instead gets a minivan.  The smile on his face each time he is driving the minivan, as he glances in the rearview mirror at the three little blessings in the backseat, assures me that he would never, ever trade this minivan in for a Porsche.
He sacrifices huge, thinking always of others first.  He loves us to the moon and back, and well, I am just feeling super blessed by him.
