I am figuring out how to spend quality time with each of my kids, still working out the quality time with my husband part...though truth be told he is pretty occupied with dissertation related stuff - coming up March 16th!
A few nights ago it was bath time with sweet K. I love bath time with my kids, they really learn the most in the bath. Last night K and I continued on learning names for parts of the body. He even busted out his new found skill to daddy later that evening, pointing to his ears and proudly saying "ear" which is a huge deal for my kiddo of few words.
K's bathtime routine in pictures...
He always puts his clothes in the dirty hamper after I help him take them off. Genius I tell you, I know that come the teen years I'll be rolling my eyes as he leaves his dirty clothes all over the floor, but for now I will revel in this moment. The look on his face as he turns around is priceless, that grin that says...look mom, I did it. Sometimes he even claps for himself ;).
Then I unfasten the sides of his diaper, he takes it off...
and throws it in the trash.
He babbles to himself in the "mirror"
and I enjoy making his hair all crazy.
Last night he said "choo-choo" for his trains. I have a feeling his vocabulary is finally blasting off...
Yesterday my little K got immunizations, and took them like a champ. He fussed for a moment while the needle was going in, and was over it as soon as the bandaids were on. He gave the medical assistant a high five on the way out, and proudly picked a Thomas the train sticker. Our K is in the 80th percentile for height and head circumference - who would of thought a kiddo from P and I could be in the 80th percentile for height?! Thus the reason one of his many nicknames is "giant baby." He is in the 20th percentile for weight. His height and weight at 18 months are equal to R's height and weight when R was almost 25 months...
On an unrelated note, the view of our backseat a few days ago...
It was all perfect and peaceful, K and J were napping, and R was watching a dvd. Then when K woke up, and both the boys were restless, it started, for the first time,
"mom, dad...he's touching me!"
And like any great mom, I took pictures of it, because I am all about capturing the real moments of our life :). Notice K's little foot in R's space.
