"I don't know how you do it all. You are a rockstar."
You know, that "light bulb moment" that occurs when a husband/dad/instructor realizes just how crazy the wife/mom/nurse role is as well. Not that his roles aren't equally challenging, but there is just something about being momma that makes things, just so very busy and sleepless. All the time.
His weary, tired body says it all. His twitching eye from lack of sleep, those dark circles underneath those twitching eyes, his normally quick to move body transforming into a sluggish bump on a log, the complaints of "I'm exhausted" before leaving for his evening late-night run (which he must continue to do, you know, because he has been consistently running every.single.day for 2 months straight, and wouldn't want to break that streak)...all evidence that this momma needs to be a functioning member of this family, and soon!
Hoping that today's doctor's appointment proves that I can get off the couch and contribute to my family. Laying low is beyond difficult!

and a few pictures from the last two days that make me smile.
Silly baby!
Forget the baby doll, he carts around the only important thing in his little life - his treasured blankie.
Two scrumptious things, my sweet R, and a shared Frosty date :).
and yes, that is an embarrassing amount of clothes that need folded in the background...
Love this little guy!
Evidence that P really is enforcing the bedrest...
and that I rarely put on make-up or get dressed up
Our little K is turning into such a book worm. I love reading to my boys!
and finally... the beautifully written "R" that is now on our couch pillow. When I talked with R about this, he said the typical line that I'd expected to encounter when the boys were older..."Kippy did it!" Now my little R is smart, much too smart to pull this line since he knows there is not any way possible that his little 17 month old brother wrote an R on the couch cushion. But he did, so we talked about lying. He said "I'm sorry and I'm never, ever ever ever ever ever ever going to do that again." While I didn't care about the pen on the cushion incident, what little kid doesn't do this at some point, I was bummed that he felt like he needed to lie about it. Anyway, I am sure more pen markings on inappropriate places are certainly in our future. And keeping a straight face/not laughing while having this discussion with him was almost impossible.
