OSSL #3

Our simple little life this week...

A blossoming relationship: our bookends are just absolutely adorable together.  She kicks and squeals in delight when he's around.  He speaks in a high pitched, voice of excitement around her.  The way he puts his hand on her squishy cheeks and smiles at her…heart melted.

The sweet relationship that these two are forming is equally as cute as the relationship that the middle littles have.

Middle littles:  They are still at it, these crazy cat kids.  Paul said the other day, I wonder what life would be like if these preschoolers were never exposed to these stuffed cats.

The imaginative play that has erupted the past two months, all because Nana sent some beanie baby cats in the mail to them.  Seriously.

All day their play time revolves around the "cat game."  The day starts, and ends, with the "cat game."  I mean, they tuck these cats into their cat beds (green and pink little baskets and Ritz cracker boxes), complete with a baby washcloth/bib-makeshift cat comforter.  The only dilemma to this cat craziness is when one of the six prized cats goes "missing."  Good gracious is that a mess of fussing, the world must stop that second and everyone must search for the cat that got away.

Photographer Kip: His love of the big camera continues.  I continue to find multiple, identical pictures on my camera.  I will know why my camera dies an untimely death, photographer Kip and his shutter happy pointer finger.  But seriously, his camera skills make me smile.

But by far, the best Kip photo…yep, four cat butts.  He assures me they are "eating" and he really wasn't just taking picture of cat butts because he knows that potty talks and butt pictures are not something that mom likes :0).  Sure kid…eating, right.

and he likes his foot apparently too..

Nightshift nervousness: She has hit a 6 month growth spurt, complete with nursing sessions happening every 2-3 hours, even at night.  While I can muster through the trenches of sleep deprivation as any mama of 4 can, I won't be in charge of her all night long eating session the next 6 nights.  Yep, tomorrow it is just her and daddy all.night.long. while I start night one of 6 in a row at work…I'm not sure who is more nervous Paul or me.  Some how this super lucky guy, landed an amazing wife who has braved the long nights of babyhood like a superwoman.  Yes, my Mr. has been lucky and never done the night time feedings for our kiddos, ever - which makes sense since I breast feed.  To make matters more nerve wracking our sweet girl has cough/congestion too.  So if you think about it, send good sleepy vibes for Hartley, and a fierce sort of patience for the new-to-this-nightime-baby-routine daddy.

Red shoes: Oh I die from cuteness.  Even more to add to the cuteness is the sentiment of the red shoe pass down, Cousin K then Jovie, and now sweet Hart.  Despite the gazillion miles apart, there is a pass down of fun girly things among cousins because I have the most amazing sister in law ever.

Sitting pretty: Sister is mastering the art of sitting without wobbling.  The nasty double ear infection she has been struggling with, for a month now, has delayed this milestone a bit.  Despite the ear drama, she's making progress.

Sister smiles:  Happiest Loprinzi baby by far is our Hartley Lane.  So lucky to have this little gem as our final fourth.

Girlfriend is a baller: Fine motor skills are developing, and girlfriend has skills.  Girl spots ball.
She rolls, squirms and inch worms her way to ball.  Girl grabs it.
and palms it like a boss.  Champion skill for 6 months.  Rockstar.

Date day: After the dreaded 6 nights of solo daddy duty, I felt the need to give my Mr. a glimmer of hope.  December 17th is a much anticipated date day sans kiddos.  Our first in, forever.  On the agenda - Christmas shopping,  lunch and a movie.  Shall be busy and superb.  So excited!
