December day at the park

Sunshine peaking through the trees was the perfect set up for a December day at the park.
A house full of restless fussy kids, turned all smiles and joy once we escaped for the outdoors.
We loaded the scooters in the back, and goodness they had fun.
I enjoyed hanging back taking in the scene - leafless, giant trees, a daddy riding a pink scooter, the sound of their happiness.  This is a good life.
5 year olds who turn the ordinary path into obstacle course ramps, and ask for me to clap when he does neat tricks = adorable.

And this, up here, this is the north pole hiking path because there was a giant hill they had to climb to get to the top.

Then the down hill scooter racing made me slightly tachycardic, and wishing they had helmets, elbow pads, and well maybe just a safety bubble.
While my fearless boy-crew scootered, I enjoyed a snuggly baby bear, and some pretend play at the play structure with an adorable 3 year old.

It has been a while since she let me take pictures of her, so a little Jovie photo overkill, but too cute not to share.

This girl's joy, just shines through.

 So does her spunky attitude.
The way she shows she is three with her fingers makes me smile, my non-traditional girl.  she rocks her own style.

Then we did some pinecone collecting, she has plans to paint them green and turn them into trees.

We stayed until the sun started "hiding behind the trees" and took it was our cure to leave when Kip complained his legs were hurting.  Poor kid was walking strange back to the van with sore legs from scootering.  I'm concerned Paul will not be able to walk right tomorrow after being all hunched over on a Jovie sized scooter for over 2 hours.  But every one had fun, and came home tired.
