We've been dealing with snow for a month now. It was fun, initially, but we are getting tired of it and look forward to spring. The dressing and undressing required for snow time play is exhausting for everyone, and takes away a lot of the fun.
Last year we had about one nice day of snow all winter, so I wasn't going to bother getting snow gear. Thankfully Nana sent a package of snow attire for these kiddos in early December (because she is awesome)…it sure has come in handy for this snowy winter. We got about 6 inches of snow the early morning of Valentine's day, so the kids had some fun in the fresh powder that covered our 5 or so inches of rock solid icy yuck that was underneath it.
Kip is not a fan of the snow. He rarely goes out. But his grin when he is throwing a snow ball…my favorite!
The freezing rain sort of put a dammer on my favorite tree out front. Hoping it bounces back…but after 2 weeks or hanging low, I'm doubting the reality of that.
I convinced my tiny lade to come inside with a "girly" art project. We put together some valentine butterfly friends…the boys refused to join in, so J and I had 12 to make. And goodness, she wouldn't let me NOT make all 12. So we were busy. Now I am left to rind the random pink and red puff ball from the bodies of these butterflies laying around the house.
Later K asked to do a "somefing with glue and paper" so we got creative. A $2 bag of conversation hearts, construction paper, glue…and over 1 hour of entertainment.
All three of these littles loved it. Perfect craft for a heart filled day.
And what is a holiday without cupcakes, frosting smeared faces, dimple grin, and big brown eyes?
We had every intention of making our frosting, but when Kip decided to try and open the powdered sugar by all by himself, and then turned white, and everything in the kitchen white…well thank goodness for the store bought container we had randomly stored in the cupboard.
After sugar loading, it was time to run some energy off…thanks to their favorite Ceci and her amazing ability to pick our kid friendly fun - we had a long nerf gun fight
It was all fun and games until J and K collided.
My Mr. brought home chocolate and tulips. I picked out a Redbox. It was a perfect day.
