and then you throw in the flu.
Ain't nobody got time for that.
So tonight, I'm attempting to get caught back up with school work - yeah blogging instead because that is how I roll.
After 6 years of child-raising, this is the first time our family has dealt with the flu. Perhaps it is our stellar hand hygiene, or flu vaccines, or luck that this is the first time our kiddos have been sick. Regardless, I don't want it again. Ever. M.i.s.e.r.a.b.l.e!
- First to come down with the flu - sweet J, who is still down for the count. Then P, who is also still down for the count. But P has that Y chromosome which instantly gives him the right to let sickness linger just a bit longer than us with the superhero XX. Just saying...Anyway, I was #3, the verdict is still out for who will get it next - R or K.
- I should add in a side note, I did stay in my room the entire day on Friday while P tended to our lovely littles - so this flu was nasty indeed. And really, my Mr. is amazingly helpful, always.
- I've learned something new about my husband the last few days - he is the loudest puker I've ever heard. I'm a RN and heard lots of pukers too...thank goodness his yuck hit during the day because if he was that loud at night, I might of just quarantined his sick self to the basement so he didn't wake up the kiddos with his loud yak.
- A final thought on this flu-fest - I am positive that there will be a corner in hell where parents are sick at the exact same time, and a few of their children are healthy, and a few are sick too, and then you run out of juice/gatorade, and well you are throwing up too bad to go get more, and you have no family close by to go to the store and get some more. Now if that isn't enough to make you "come to Jesus" well I'm not sure what is. If you need a reality of what it will be like in hell, you could of stopped by our house the last three days. Seriously, not.fun.

Wow. Tinley had the flu on her 1st birthday but it was not as you described. Actually, oddly, I thought it wasn't as bad as some of the stomach bugs we have caught over here... Like the one that went through this past week. We had no puking with our flu bug til we introduced Tamiflu to the situation... So we quickly decided against that and the puking stopped!
I sure hope it stops there and R & K stay healthy! It sounds like a very rough time around there. And I feel so bad that you didn't have anyone nearby to help. :(
