I am getting fit.
Fit as in:
- my pre kid jeans, the HOT ones, fit.
- I can finally pull of skinny jeans and not look like a square in them. Mostly.
- I can comfortably run 6 miles, 4 days a week, at a decent pace…ran a 10K in 48 minutes just 3 days ago. Woot.
- I have a 6 pack, true story, just wish my belly that once hosted 3 babies would let it show. I know it is there, that is all that matters (to me anyway).
- I have thunder thighs. Good thunder thighs. Ones that are muscular, and strong, and scream – this girl runs marathons.
- And for the first time, ever, I have definition in my biceps.
So this may sound like a brag-fest, but given the roles of wife, mama
of 3, graduate school student, night shift RN, and now some time this year
marathoner…I’m in a good place.
And I do this, not to look good – though perhaps it is an
added bonus for my Mr., but to assure that I can do everything in my power to
be here, for them.
And then grandkids, and great grand kids.
And to grow old, (and more wrinkly) with him.
Life is good.
