Little league

I discussed little league sign-ups with R, and the possibility of him playing this spring.

My description to him of how the game goes...

"We'd buy you a glove, bat, and ball.  When it is your turn, you stand at the base and try to hit the ball, that your coach pitches to you.  If you hit the ball you get to run as fast as you can to the first base, and try to get there before the other team catches the ball and throws it to the first base guy.  The hope is that you get to run to all three bases, back to the home base and score, but it doesn't always happen that way.   When it isn't your teams turn to bat, then you wait out in the field and try to catch the ball.

So apparently I suck in trying to encourage a new sport...  R, looks at me like I have 3 heads, then says...

"why would I want to do that!  It sounds like SUCH a boring game.  You just try to hit a ball then wait around hoping to run, then go and wait around some more on a bench if you miss hitting the ball.  Then when it isn't your turn to try and hit the ball, but I would miss for sure because I am not so good at seeing it, you just stand around waiting.waiting.waiting.waiting to try and catch the ball.  WAY TOO MUCH WAITING AROUND!  So when are soccer sign-ups?"

Apparently we'll do soccer again.
