After getting stir crazy from sickness (R brought home another "bug" from school - it was the fever, cough, body aches, snot nose bug) P brought up the idea of going into his office on a Sunday. The 20 degree weather kept us from enjoying an afternoon outdoors. Despite the cool factor not matching up to when P was a graduate student at OSU - the kids had the hook up there with cool activities to do in the gym - there was a lot of firsts and fun for the kids...
and the view from his office window - the giant white board P was so overly excited about. Notice the distance, and the camera angle prevent exposing any of my Mad Scientists next great research ideas.
Middle child at his finest...
They had so much fun running wild, Kip faceplanted running down the ramp.
This professor clearly doesn't have control of this class, the kids ran around wild, doing circles around the room of desks.
They got to check out the underwater weighing tub - P corrected me - it is called "hydrostatic weighing." I don't know which I like more the smile on my #1 guys face, or the two little boys who were so memorized by the giant bathtub.
After all that running around, it was time for a snack. R recently watched Over the Hedge (a kiddo movie) that had a vending machine in it, P told R he could pick a treat from the vending machine, and so R hauled his "doggie bank" so he could pay for it, cause he is a cool kid like that. Chocolate donuts, and the rockstar shared with the hole fam.
"doggie bank" and a donut date :)
and if you give some kids a donut, they're going to want some water to go with it...
Ryk chewed holes in this Styrofoam cup, and said "the cups brains are leaking out"
Kip needed assistance with his water cup, he first tried the water fountain with no success, from what I'm told it was quite the ordeal.
Later they checked out the skeleton at the lab, lovingly named "Clyde." Perhaps it is Clyde who has been giving my Ryk some bad nightmares...
Jovie pulled off her shoes and crawled around like a mad woman.
I promise this picture is not inappropriate, P was just trying to help R and his pants crisis. Ryk ran so fast, he ran right outta his pants - little dude can't even keep elastic waist pants up...
and Jovie girl crawled herself into exhaustion. She seriously just laid on the floor staring up, then reached up from me waving her hands - her expression that clearly says "pick me up mama."
