High and low

Paul and I always (use to, but should start again) ended our days stating the "high and low" - the greatest part of the day and the worst part of the day.  Today, it is fitting.

High -
  • Jovie went to sleep at 11:30pm, and I had to wake her up at 5:30am to nurse her before I left for work.  Double bonus - baby that slept 6 hours straight, and a mama that got 6 hours of straight sleep.  Not sure if the straight sleep was from the stellar tummy time session yesterday evening followed by a bath - but we are trying it again tonight.
  • Finding out at work today that I didn't get paid my vacation and sick time while on maternity leave - so we have a fat, unexpected paycheck coming soon, and in just the perfect timing.  Huge blessing!
  • Coming home to see this

  • Going out to enjoy the weather with my family

  •  Seeing my little boy mimic everything my big boy was doing (even if he was constantly worrying me that he would hurt himself), and seeing that my big boy picked out an outfit almost identical to the one I had set out for Kiplin to wear this morning.
  • Listening to Kiplin's vocabulary explosion today
Latest words he just picked up on today include: Jovie, rock, chalk, tree, grass (though he doesn't manage to get the "gr" part in which makes me giggle), mommy (makes me melt!), up, light.  There are probably more, but I only got a mere 2 hours with him before bedtime today.
  • Taking pictures, in perfect outdoor lighting, of my sweet girl (I would do this with the boys too, if they'd let me)
She was swimming in the outfit, but goodness it is so cute that I just couldn't wait to get it on her!  I suppose we will have to wait till the elastic waistband keeps the little skirt up before she wears it again, but this hand-me-down outfit is one of my summer favorites in her wardrobe!
and one more, for good measure...I think this one was my favorite :), love those little lady feet and her expressive little eye peeking out!

  • Noticing little chunk forming on little lady's thighs
 Scrumptious!

Low -
  • Leaving my little loves and my husband to go to work - so thankful for the job, but goodness I sure hate leaving my family
  • Dinner disaster.

I hope the highs were higher than the lows were low. Love the strawberry outfit and the thigh chub -- nom nom nom! :) Miss you guys!
