Enjoying sleeplessness

Today my mom and sister were suppose to come visit.  Something we all look forward to.  With my sister's new job, my new job, and living 2 hours away visits don't happen as often as we would all like.

However, my boys started getting sick yesterday, which put a hold on our visit until J's next day off.

Last night I spent the majority of the night sleeping on the couch, holding K upright so he could sleep instead of drown in snot.  I noticed the clock every hour, and even resorted to turning the tv on to keep some sanity amidst the sleeplessness.  Little R moans were heard down the hall throughout the night as well.  My little guys were so miserable.  I don't like sickies, especially when they are my own littles.  I am hoping that K does not get an ear infection.

After our rough night, K declared it morning at 5am.  Way, way too early.  My mom sent me a text this morning that was so fitting for today.  It said,

"I really miss mornings with little kids.  How funny is that.  When your kids are little u would give anything for 5 more minutes of sleep and when you are done with that stage of life you would love to get up early and play.  Enjoy the moments."

This morning was really one of those mornings where I would of loved 5 more minutes (or 5 hours for that matter) of sleep.  So I am going to focus on my mom's words of wisdom, and just enjoy the moments, even if they are sleepless and start way too early.

So for now I will enjoy the 20 pound, 100 degree heating pad that is currently snuggled up, snoozing and snoring away so cozy on my chest.  I'll enjoy a day of snuggles, book reading, and movies on the couch with my almost 4 year old.

and I will appreciate that I stocked up on Kleenex during back to school time when it was cheap, cause we are burning right through them.

I am hoping my little guys will be feeling better quickly.

I am hoping that your boys get better real soon...
I love your mom's words of wisdom. So true and a great reminder to all of us young moms :)
