Just another day with these sweet sisters. Slow morning snugs on a random Wednesday with both dad and mom home. Winning.
Meanwhile: in reality land, 8+ loads of laundry to fold before we get our day of errands going. Because from the look of this pile, as usual, nobody has any clothes left in their drawers.
Mid folding break for a fish face selfie because this girly #1 insisted.
I totally postponed folding because she is absolutely, breathtakingly beautiful, this 4.5 year old of mine. And snuggling were in order instead. Worth it.
And when you tickle and kiss her, she'll plead for more. So I do, over and over, because she won't alway be 4.5 and want her mama to smother her in kisses and love.
We needed to drive 1 hour and 20 minutes to go run some errands, but first had to enjoy a slow morning. My favorite.
Parenting goals: she's learning to be a little lover. I like that. When I feel like I fail daily, I see these little glimpses that somehow they get it. Littlest showing love, big sis soaking her in.
Before we forced her in the car for a long drive, apparently some "gardening in December" was necessary.
So they all joined in. My people are weird.
We drove to Tupelo to look at Storm shelters, because December 23rd, 2016 was horrific. When we were looking at the shelters Kip kept saying "I want to go, my legs are shaking." I promised him there wouldn't be any tornados, that we were just looking to get a shelter put in our house to keep us safe in case of any other tornado watches. He wasn't convinced.
Then we planned a Sam's Club trip, because we were already in town. Paul busting a move while waiting for the gas to pump. Just his usual weirdness.
Nothing says classy like a family with 4 young kids, a husband with long crazy hair, and a mid aisle game of basketball on the display that had deflated balls to discourage this rambunctious act…yep, that is us. Perfectly, imperfect.
Then we encouraged our kids to run down the aisle. Now before you get all judgy-pants, realize that the closes Sam's club is 1hour and 20 minutes away. The kids needed to get their crazies out, and why not in the empty aisle of Sam's club.
No trip is complete without a meltdown. This time, in the produce aisle. I suggested to Paul that maybe we could ask for "clean up in the produce aisle" but Paul said that would make their prices increase. Alas, looks like we'll deal with this Kip meltdown on our own.
He wanted a hotdog when we left, so…yeah. He had no idea how to eat it. It was hilarious. He squirted mustard and ketchup on it like a boss, but proceeded to eat it all sideways and crazy. He is at that age, where he must do and figure out on his own. No amount of encouragement to show him how to handle this hotdog was going to work. I choose my battles with him wisely. Also, that Christmas hat, still going strong on 12/30 (and as a person who puts the tree/Christmas stuff away on 12/26 -this Santa hat still 5 days post holiday bugs me)…again, not a battle worth fighting, though. And if he wears this $.98 Walmart Santa hat all year, then so be it.
Fridge is happy again after Sam's club. This will do us for about 2-3 days. And we have a plan for a storm shelter, so I'm happy. Maybe Mississippi isn't so bad after all.
