Bullet points on my #1 son, addressing the good, the bad, and the quirky...
- He sleeps on one side of the bed during school days, and the other side on the weekends.
- He wants us to wake him up for school in the morning by touching his arm only. "Don't say anything, don't kiss me, ONLY TOUCH MY ARM!"and we listen. If you don't, it is doomsday. Seriously.
- He hates coats. HATES them. It took 3 coats to figure out which one he will wear. A down coat, because "it scrunches up to fit in my backpack, and makes it so my arms can bend all normal-like." - R. Pre- down coat purchase, getting out to the bus stop was the end of the world. He would always lose "fun stuff" after school just to get his coat on him. Seriously this kid would of just walked to the bus stop in 30 degree weather coatless.
- He is the pickiest eater, second to P of course. He REFUSES to try anything new, and could thrive (and probably does) on PB&J sandwiches - with the crust peeled off, poppyseed muffins (cut in half), and fruit. I always put things on his plate in an attempt for him to be exposed to new foods, but he will take it off his plate and put it on the table. He will go hungry if given the option to eat what I've cooked or not eat at all. I've tried it.
- Will only wear athletic pants, because "jeans are too stiff and scratchy on my legs" - R
- Looks forward to Fun Fridays - the day of the week R stays up late for some one-on-one mama daddy time. Most times he picks fire-pit with s'mores. He always wants to immediately wash his hands post fire-pit s'more fest. Cause they are sticky. I thought boys are suppose to be grimy and dirty?
- He is a reader. Exploding with excitement for learning. Thrives off of learning his sight words, and reading his siblings books. Is becoming pretty artistic, and imaginative. His penmanship is improving, and I love to watch his struggle with sentence structure, and word formation...most recent sentence "my cat punkin is sik" (my cat Pumpkin is sick). He wants to know what everything says, and is starting to sound out words all the time.
- He loves, LOVES his siblings. Yes, they bicker, but he'd be lost without them. Recently he patted K's head and says "I just love my little brother buddy!" Yep, turned into a puddle of mush right then.
- He gives J rides on his wheeler,
- Is OBSESSED with angry birds.
- Wants to please us, and make good decisions.
- Is a snuggler, but only on his terms. "You can hold me, but only with your arm here, and your legs HAVE to be this way, and then I'll snuggle." I abide, always, because his Rykles are harder to get, and soon enough he'll be a teen and snuggling a mama won't be on his radar.
- Loves his Jill-cat. SO much.
- At 6 years old he wears size 4 pants, size 5T shirts, size 11 shoes = he is right at the 5th percentile for height/weight.
- He loves his mama, but is clearly more of a daddy's boy lately (which, yes has this lady jealous, but I am so loving watching him love, and look up to his daddy this way).
- Looks forward to watching for the mailtruck, and eagerly goes and gets it most days. Watching his little head look carefully both ways of the road before zipping out to snatch it out of the box cracks me up. HIs little half smirked face he makes his way up the long driveway with the junkmail is priceless. Totally makes getting junk mail worth it so I can observe this daily ritual.

Ohhh little R. So hard for me to believe he's already so grown up. He sounds like an awesome little guy. :)
