True story.
And when you live in the country out here, it is septic systems, and sump pumps, and goodness the things we are learning about homeownership.
Thankfully we have our trusty neighbor B, who has been amazingly helpful as we tackle random around the house tidbits, and saving us a truckload on the expense of purchasing/renting tools to get the job done.
A few weekends ago P tackled re-routing the sump pump so that it would drain in the ditch, instead of swamping underneath our deck.
His biggest complaint was "not being fat enough" as he was attempting to dig the trench. The KY drought we had this summer made the dirt feel like cement, so P and to jump on the shovel to make any progress.
The kids joined in on the work.
Me, I just sat back and watched my family work hard. Seriously. the only finger I lifted was to press the shutter button on the camera :). I did my hair that day, and didn't want to ruin it getting all sweaty. It was girls night later that evening, afterall. Mama's got her priorities straight, this was seriously the first time in the history of ever that I've been such a princess like that. (and it felt strange).
and after playing in the dirt got boring, they went "wheeling"
and it is clear by his smirk, that giving little sis a ride didn't cramp his style at all :).
Seriously, this little man is the best brother in the universe.
The giggles of three little loves, and watching them savor the last bits of summer like weather was lovely.

Your kids have gotten SO big since the last time I visited! Wow! (I was friends with you over on Xanga, if you've forgotten. ;))
