Saturday at the zoo

We are not spontaneous.  Perhaps because with 4 littles, spontaneity leads to a car full of fussing kids driving 90 minutes home from the zoo.  But we went, most of them had fun, so I guess it was a win.

The "pink, one legged birds" were Jovie's favorite, and she was just thrilled that her shirt matched them.

A close tie for favorite were the penguins.
Kip was a lion most of the time we were there.  The long, boring car drive to get there wore his patience out.  The thing with having a "large" family, you just have to go out and explore, regardless of bad attitudes.  If you sit around waiting for the perfect day, perfect moment, perfect attitude with so many perfectly, imperfect individuals, well we'd spend our whole existence cooped up in our little Mississippi house driving each other bonkers.

The playground at the Zoo was the highlight of Kip's outing.  I let Hartley down so she could move around for the first time in 3 hours and out popped this little creep…I swiped Hartley up super quick.  I'm not a reptile fan, ESPECIALLY when they sneak up on my BABY!

Then there was this peaceful, sleeping panda.  Ryker thought it was hilarious that he was sleeping sitting upright.

And a sweet surprise when loading the pictures on the computer - a rare photo with me and our crazy 4.
I know outings will get easier.  We won't always have a baby, and the kids will adjust to dealing with the long car drives to get fun places.  For next time, we'll just plan to bring some electronic devices to keep some peace in the car :).  Trial and error.
