Trampoline #2

We put it together at 7pm, after tucking them in early, my Mr. and I.  Two giant 100lb boxes sat in the garage, for three long weeks, awaiting better weather, and enough time for two parents to put it together.  It was an anticipated event around here.  One talked about since the morning of Feburary 21, when our sweet just-turned-3-year-old girl came downstairs on her birthday to see the trampoline obliterated by the previous night's storm.  Her face, the look of disappointment, and their three little pleas to "fix the trampoline please" was the motivation to penny pinch for a new one.  So we did.  Because they are worth a few months of nights spent at home, eating dinner in, to save up money that we could have spent on family dinner's out and the sporadic date-night just the Mr. and me, for the satisfaction of a summer filled with jumping good fun.

My Mr. hauled those boxes, heavy as can be, solo over to the hopeful corner of the yard that will provide enough protection from the wind, should another storm hit, to salvage trampoline #2.  We turned on Pandora, and got to work, hoping to finish before the darkness made it impossible.

Putting a trampoline together, the second time around, went MUCH quicker than the first.  We periodically kissed while piecing it together, because we are cheesy like that, still after 8.5 years of marriage.  A 3rd trimester baby bump paired with sweat from the workout that moving around when hugely pregnant causes, are not enough to deter his affection towards me.  Yes, even the most monotonous of routines such as attaching the gazillion trampoline springs, made more fun with my Mr.

We both would randomly peek up at the top right corner window of this yellow house that we are finally making home.  Huge smiles resulted, as we viewed the excited faces of our two little boys, starting back at us.  Eager with anticipation of the jump-fest that would occur the next day.

It only took a few swear words, some muscle, and 1.5 hours to put up.  We fist bump, gather the garbage and head in.  Yes, this is such a materialistic item, but so worth the money and time spent for the moments that these three littles will enjoy.

Our life together, young love, with a 4th baby on the way.  People often question us, question how we can enjoy life being almost 29 (me), and 31 (him) and enjoy, really enjoy, life with such big responsibilities.  Yes, we chose to give up dream vacations, and life in the city to live this way.  But goodness, this is our dream life, and we are living it, and loving it…

There is no place I'd rather be, than with him, and these little loves we get to raise.  Perhaps, someday, we'll be at a place where we enjoy a nice couples oceanside vacation just him and I, together, but for now we find our vacations at home.  We treasure every moment that we make together, right here putting a trampoline together at 7:30pm at night, for our little loves.  This, right here, is our perfection.
