The great Loprinzi move

Day one of new house - arrive with our U-haul of loot.  Quickly found out the water was turned off, and wouldn't be turned on till Monday.  Lovely.  Just when I thought we'd need to drive 40 minutes back to our empty rental house to shower my filthy, sweaty, sticky family, our neighbor knocks on the door in a friendly - welcome to the neighborhood sort of way.  He asks if we needed anything.  After he so graciously helped Paul haul in the washer, dryer, and fridge I asked in that awkward - I know we just met you but can we (as in all 5 of us) take a shower at your house tonight? And so we did, cause people in Kentucky are cool.

The neighbor boy mowed our lawn - and we have an acre...Another neighbor boy came up and helped Paul with yard work.
P is hard to see - but he is there, trimming up the shrubs/bushes/flowers.  Lets just say my Mr. (bless his heart - don't judge, I am becoming Kentucky-ised) is not the artsy-make-shrubs-look-good sort of trimmer.  He is all about getting the job done.  I'll have to post a pic of our sad lookinglovely tree...

And we are still trying to distribute said loot throughout 4,200 feet of space, and our bodies are beyond tired.

We are getting tired of trying to incorporate ways to keep our kids busy and happy while we attempt to get settled.  This moving stuff with 3 littles is hard work...

The fly swatter guy, minimizing bugs, one fly at a time.

So instead of moving in for the 4th day in a row we had a family day.  It was needed.

And just so I don't paint my family as perfection - I'll let you know that there were a few (okay several, shameful) expressions of "SHUT UP Paul" (on my part) exchanged- we don't do well together in extreme exhaustion - I get grumpy/short tempered, he gets overly affectionate/buggy/annoying (but we work on it, cause someday we will be the sweet old, gray haired couple who are still just smitten for eachother), I think that the kids overall had a good day - perhaps we did too :).
*****

It was a day to look past the mess of the house we are making a home, to tip toe around the maze of boxes, and to just...be.

To share Popsicles.

I literally did "share" with K.  He just walked up and took a huge honkin' bite out of mine!

And for those wondering - it was "yellow day" per Ryk.

And it was lovely.

all of it.

These boys.  This man.  This yard.

This weather.  These perfect cotton picturesque clouds.  80 degrees.

This swimsuit cutie.

This love.

So blessed!
